The rally route goes from the villages (they are also known as 'Padas') with muddy and slushy roads, thorns and bushes on both the sides, uphill and downhill sloping roads. The route also goes through a small river or a dam.
The rally is very well organized by Mahindra & Mahindra every year. There are 4 service vehicles equipped with all tools to help the vehicles stuck in the rally route. All these service vehicles are 4x4 wheel drive vehicles which are driven by experienced drivers and servicemen.
Actually, it cannot be said as a rally but all vehicles move in a convoy with vehicle numbers alloted to them. No vehicle is allowed to overtake another vehicle.
Being a ham radio operator, I was lucky to participate in the rally last year and this year too with 4 other ham friends. We all were invited for providing wireless radio communication support for the rally, which helped a lot to the service people to provide support during the rally.
The rally becomes more enjoyable, if it rains for sometime.
